  • Answer
Answer: The first characteristic is that the court system in the United States is a dual system with both federal and
state courts. The second characteristic is that it performs its duties with little or no supervision. The third
feature of our court system is the specialization that occurs primarily at the state and local levels. A
fourth characteristic of our court system is that generally the courts perform either trial or appellate
functions. The fifth characteristic of the American court system is the organization of state and federal
courts into geographic areas.
