What is the expected variation in excited state lifetime with quencher concentration in a Stern–Volmer plot?

What will be an ideal response?

  • Answer
The fluorescence lifetime is inversely proportional to the concentration of the quenching species. As the quencher concentration increases, the fluorescence lifetime de-creases. The slope of the plot is the rate constant for quenching.
